about the Aiken Center and our Services
Question: I really need help with my alcohol problem but I can’t
afford to be hospitalized. How can the Aiken Center help me?
Answer: Our Intensive Outpatient
Program (IOP) offers specialized services of greater intensity and frequency
than traditional outpatient programs. It allows clients to remain in the
community and provides an opportunity for greater family involvement in the
treatment process. After care services are also offered to maintain
recovery. A counselor will be happy to discuss the program with you.
Question: My Senior Citizen Club wants to know more about
prescription drug abuse. How can the Aiken Center assist me?
Answer: Our prevention, education
and information staff would be happy to speak to your club or organization.
To request a speaker, ask for the Prevention Department.
Question: I lost my job and I am losing my family due to my drinking.
What can the Aiken Center do for me?
Answer: Outpatient services are
available for individuals and families in individual and group setting in
our Aiken and North Augusta offices. Any of our staff can provide more
information on our programs.
Question: Our child is having more and more behavior problems at
school. How can the Aiken Center help?
Answer: The Aiken Center has two
counseling programs for students. The Child Intervention Program (ChIP) is
for students K-5 and their families; the School Intervention Program (ScIP)
is for students in grades 6-12. Call for more information on the right
program for you and your child.
Question: I was arrested for a crime I committed while I was drunk. Now
the judge says I have to come to the Aiken Center. What will I have to do?
Answer: The Intervention Division
has several programs for people referred by the court system. You will be
provided an individual in-depth assessment and based on the results we will
help you select a program which will meet your need. An Intervention
Specialist can provide more information.
Question: I work for a company where employees with personal problems
are causing work problems. How can the Aiken Center help us?
Answer: The Employee Assistance
Program (EAP) contracts with industries and organizations to provide
counseling services to employees and their families for a variety of
problems. Please contact the EAP Coordinator at 649-1911 or 1-800-231-7849

Question: My husband’s drinking is disruption our family. What can
the Aiken Center do for me?
Answer: Women’s Services Program
at the Aiken Center offers women a variety of options including marital,
family, individual and group therapy. We provide outreach and advocacy
services for all women, with first priority to pregnant women. To find out
how we can help you, call and ask for Women’s Services Department.
Question: I was recently convicted of driving under the influence
(DUI). Can the Aiken Center help me get my drivers license back?
Answer: Under the South Carolina
law, if you have ever been convicted of DUI you must successfully complete
the Alcohol & Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) in order to regain you
license. Call our Intervention Division for details
